Wolanin was a star pitcher for the Rams’ baseball team from 1966 until 1968. In his freshman season, Wolanin was the pitcher of record in four of the team’s five wins, including the school’s first-ever win against a major public university—a 2-1 win over Rutgers. He led the pitching staff in strikeouts in two of his three seasons. Wolanin also played on the Rams’ basketball team. In 2010 Wolanin received Philadelphia University’s Lifetime Innovation Award.
