Volleyball rolls over Bloomfield, 3-0, to stay perfect in CACC play

PHILADELPHIA – The Philadelphia University women's volleyball team remains unblemished in Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference (CACC) play after defeating visiting Bloomfield, 3-0, Saturday afternoon in the Gallagher Center.

The Lady Rams improve to 7-3 overall and 3-0 in the CACC. Bloomfield is now 1-5 overall and 0-4 against the conference. The set scores were 25-9, 25-18, and 25-2.

Middle hitter Ellie Edgar led the Lady Rams' offense with eight kills and no errors. She finished the match with a hitting percentage of .615 (eight kills-zero errors-13 attempts). Edgar added three service aces. Outside hitter Brittany Olson had seven kills, four digs and two service aces.  Middle hitter Terra Ecker added five kills.

Setter Allyson Schillinger recorded 14 assists and four digs. Libero Morgan McCarthy had eight digs.

During the Lady Rams' third-set win, outside hitter Allison Manley served 16 consecutive points for the Lady Rams, which is tied for third in NCAA Division II history, to turn a 4-1 lead into a 20-1 gap. She had two service aces during the run. Manley also had a team-high nine digs.

Bloomfield's Dominic Spivey had five kills and five digs. Karol Oliveros had six assists and six digs.

The Lady Rams will look to remain undefeated in the CACC as it hosts Chestnut Hill on Tuesday, Sept. 25 at 6 p.m.
