Women's Volleyball Wins Regular Season Finale Over Georgian Court
LAKEWOOD, N.J. – Thomas Jefferson University women's volleyball (12-12, 8-7) looked to prepare themselves for the Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference (CACC) Championship Tournament next week, but first looked to end their regular season on a high note as they took on fellow CACC South opponent Georgian Court University (8-19, 5-10) in Saturday morning action. The Rams ended up defeating the Lions 3-1 on the day to finish earn a win in the season finale.
WHAT HAPPENED
- Jefferson went down in a hole in the first set, unable to stop the Lions having multiple runs as they dropped the first set 25-17
- The Rams would have their own runs, two where they had four straight points and earned four of the last five, to secure a 25-23 second set win
- The third set saw both teams go back-and-forth, with Georgian Court looking to get ahead 2-1 in the series. Jefferson wouldn't allow that, earning four of the final five points and getting match point twice to win 26-24
- The Rams started the fourth strong, going up 7-3 and getting as high as a six-point lead. The Lions crawled back and got within one, but Jefferson went to methodically control the fourth and secure the 25-22 victory and won the series 3-1
