Olson and Carney lead Lady Rams to a four-set win over Nyack

NYACK, N.Y. – Outside hitters Brittany Olson and Danielle Carney combined for 23 kills and 27 digs to help the Philadelphia University women's volleyball team defeat Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference (CACC) opponent Nyack, 3-1, Saturday afternoon in the Bowman Center.

Philadelphia won the first set 25-22. After dropping set two, 25-22, the Lady Rams closed out the match by taking the last two sets 25-17 and 25-15.

The Lady Rams extend their winning streak to a season-best four as they improve to 14-6 overall and 8-3 in the conference. Nyack is now 9-10 overall and 6-6 against the CACC.

Olson had a match-high 13 kills and 12 digs in the victory for Philadelphia. Carney led the team with 15 digs and added 10 kills. Middle hitter Chelsea Hughes had eight kills, while outside hitter Terra Ecker posted seven kills.

Setter Heather Martin tallied a team-best 23 assists. Setter Allyson Schillinger had 14 assists, eight digs and two kills.

Libero Morgan McCarthy contributed 11 digs.

Samantha Garza led Nyack with 12 kills. Debbeie Schendel had 14 digs and 11 kills. Brianna Kane posted a match-best 31 assists.

Philadelphia returns home to take on CACC South Division leader Wilmington on Wednesday, Oct. 17 at 7 p.m.
