New Castle, DE- The Philadelphia University
volleyball team (11-1, 2-0 CACC) got a 3-0 shutout on the road vs.
the Wilmington University Wildcats (2-5, 0-1 CACC) on Tuesday
evening. The Lady Rams have not lost in 11 straight
matches.
Set scores were 25-19, 28-26 and 25-18.
A trio of seniors led the way for PhilaU including middle hitter
Molly Malone (Rochester, NY/ Gates Chili), outside
hitter Celena Rendon (San Antonio, TX/ Tom C.
Clark) and right-side hitter Nicole Berkstresser
(Bridgewater, NJ/ Bridgewater-Raritan). All had eight kills,
and Rendon led the group with 12 digs and two service aces.
The closest the Wildcats got was a 28-26 second set.
PhilaU returns to action at home on Thursday (9/17) vs.
University of the Sciences at 7 p.m.
