Lakewood, NJ- The Philadelphia University
women's volleyball team (32-5, 17-2 CACC) advanced to the CACC
Championship match in a 3-0 win over Caldwell College (21-12, 16-3
CACC) on Friday night. This will be the third year (of four)
that the Lady Rams have made it to the title match. PhilaU will
face host and three-time defending champion Georgian Court in the
Championship on Saturday (11/14) at 1:00 p.m.
Against Caldwell, the Lady Rams held a .242 hitting
percentage-holding the Cougs to just .100% on the floor.
Set scores were: 25-13, 25-20 and 25-22.
PhilaU was led by senior outside hitter Celena Rendon's (San
Antonio, TX/ Tom C. Clark) six kills, 14 digs and two blocks, while
fellow senior libero Natalie Amodei (West Chester, PA/ Bishop
Shanahan) racked up a team-high 21 digs.
CC was led by 12 kills and 10 digs from Susan McDonough.
The Lady Rams will face rival GCU in the title game on Saturday
(11/14) at 1:00 p.m. in Lakewood, NJ. Directions can be found
