Four Rams Receive CACC Weekly Awards
NEW HAVEN, Conn. – Thomas Jefferson University kept the awards coming in as four student-athletes were honored with Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference (CACC) weekly honors for competition that ran through October 13-19.
Nikki Dedes and
Carly Yeager give two more awards for women's soccer while
Emily McKenna and
Meredith Adams bring home their honors to women's volleyball.
NIKKI DEDES – PLAYER OF THE WEEK
Dedes receives her first Player of the Week honors this season and her third career weekly award while giving the Rams their fourth on the year. Dedes attributed to Jefferson's attack in their lone contest on Tuesday when she netted a goal and added two assists in a 4-0 victory over Holy Family University.
CARLY YEAGER – CO-DEFENSIVE PLAYER OF THE WEEK
Yeager adds her third weekly award this year, seventh in her career, and fifth for women's soccer this season. She played all 90 minutes against the Tigers, anchoring a defense that allowed only six shot attempts on the evening.
EMILY MCKENNA – PLAYER OF THE WEEK
McKenna takes home her second weekly award on the year and her career. She had a .353 attack percentage with 4.67 kills and 2.22 digs per set this week. McKenna had 19 kills and three service aces in a 3-1 victory against Georgian Court while producing 23 kills and 11 digs in a five-set thriller against Post University.
MEREDITH ADAMS – SETTER OF THE WEEK
Adams earns her first weekly award in her career, giving women's volleyball their third on the season. She averaged 10.33 assists and 3.00 digs this week for the Rams. Adams added 43 assists and 15 digs in the win over the Lions while having a career-best 50 assists with 12 digs in five sets versus the Eagles.
