Women's Volleyball Sweeps Griffins in Second Matchup
 
PHILADELPHIA, Pa. – Thomas Jefferson University women's volleyball (6-10) looked to go through the second round of action against Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference (CACC) South opponents as they began that journey with Chestnut Hill College (4-14, 1-7) on Tuesday night. The Rams went to sweep the Griffins for the second time this season.
 
WHAT HAPPENED
  • First set went back and forth as the Chestnut Hill held a 9-6 lead before Jefferson went on a 7-1 run to go ahead 13-10. The Rams went to have match point, but the Griffins took three in a row to even the set at 24-24. Two straight kills helped Jefferson take set one 2-24
  • The rest of the series went heavily in favor of Jefferson. They got out to a 10-4 lead and never looked back to earn a 25-14 victory in set two. The third set went in similar fashion as they held another 10-4 lead that they never relinquished, earning the 25-15 victory and 3-0 series sweep
  • Alexa Pomeroy and Emily McKenna each had nine kills with Liz Tanis following behind with six while having five total blocks. Meredith Adams had 25 assists while Kate Hines earned 11 digs. Pemi Areola and Jaysa Even had four and three blocks respectively
