Women's Volleyball Drops the Match to Georgian Court

LAKEWOOD, NJ - Thomas Jefferson University women's volleyball (14-17, 9-7) competed against Georgian Court University (18-9, 14-2) in their last game of the regular season on Saturday, November 16. The Rams fought back in the third set but ultimately dropped the match to the Lions.

WHAT HAPPENED

  • The Lions claimed the first three points of the match after a few hitting errors from the Rams and a service ace by Giorgia Cappelletti. Jaysa Even gets her first kill of the match to tie up the score at 6-6. The Lions proceeded to go on a 11 point run and take the first set as the Rams were unable to fight back.

  • The Lions started strong as well in the third after kills from Ross Chelsea and Cappelletti. Emily Mckenna can generate some energy claiming two kills in an effort to catch up with the Lions. The Rams are unable to surpass the Lions and a kill from Ava Venneri earns Georgian Court set two.

  • Caroline Bond sets Morgan Martin as she claims the kill and first point of the third set, the Rams looking to turn things around. Mckenna again is a strong force offensively and keeps the Rams even with the Lions. The Lions are first to break 20, and kills from Cappelletti push them to match point.
