Women's Volleyball Sweeps University of Bridgeport in Quarterfinal Match
BRIDGEPORT, CT - Thomas Jefferson University women's volleyball (15-17) competed against University of Bridgeport (20-10) in the CACC Tournament Quarterfinal match on Tuesday, November 19. The Rams, who came into playoff action as the third seed in the South Division, swept the second seeded Bridgeport from the North Division in three sets.
WHAT HAPPENED

The Rams started off strong, quickly taking control of the first set after two back-to-back kills from Morgan Ritchie setting the Rams ahead 9-5. Bridgeport in unable to generate energy in the first half, while Cameron Johnson secured two back-to-back service aces giving the Rams a 6-point lead nearing the end of the set. Lucia Tomiello gets two kills of her own but it's not enough as Kristine Guenther gets a service ace on game point of set one.

The Knights looking to push this match to a fourth set take control with kills from Paola Hernandez, Jessen, and Tomiello take keep them ahead majority of the set. After another kill from Ritchie, and an attack error on Jessen the score is tied up at 22-22. The Rams can push three straight points taking the third set, as well as the victory over the Knights in the Quarterfinal match.

CACC PLAYOFFS
The Rams will head to Lakewood, New Jersey for the CACC Tournament hosted by Georgian Court. The Rams will face Georgian court looking for success after dropping both matches to the Lions during regular season play.
