Women's Volleyball Drops to Shippensburg in Four Sets 

PHILADELPHIA – Thomas Jefferson University women's volleyball (6-11) took the first set in their matchup, but the Raiders earned the next three as the Rams dropped their non-conference matchup to Shippensburg University (9-9) in Tuesday evening competition. 

WHAT HAPPENED 

• Jefferson went up 7-4 off Emily McKenna and Morgan Ritchie kills 

• Shippensburg began to take the lead, eventually holding a 20-16 advantage 

• The Rams went to take the next six points, with McKenna getting three straight kills while Morgan Martin had one of her own, getting Jefferson up 22-20 

• After traidng points, the Rams eventually took the first set 25-23 

• After holding a 5-4 lead to start the second, Shippensburg took the next five points in a row to go up 10-4 

• Jefferson went on a 6-1 run to trail by a point to the Raiders 

• After both teams earned runs, the Raiders took the final nine points of the second set to win 25-14 and even the series at 1-1 

• Shippensburg took control of the third set, going up 10-3. The Rams had kills by Pemi Areola, Ritchie, McKenna, and Morgan Martin, but the Raiders held onto a 25-12 victory to go up 2-1 

• After the Rams took the first two points, Shippensburg went to go on an 8-0 run 

• Jefferson got within two points by Kristine Guenther back-to-back service aces and an McKenna kill 

• The Raiders kept ahold of their lead, going on an 8-1 run. The Rams got within three points multiple times, but fell to Shippensburg 25-14 as they dropped the series 3-1
