Sophomore right fielder Ryan Shellock (Blackwood, N.J./Triton), junior catcher TJ Burgmann (Philadelphia, Pa./La Salle College HS) and junior second baseman John Sczepanski (Lafayette Hill, Pa./La Salle College HS) recorded two hits each.

Anthony Dimino led the Crusaders' 14-hit attack with a 4-for-5 day at the plate, including a grand slam in the bottom of the fifth, a total of five RBI and scoring four times. Philadelphia took a 2-0 lead in the first with the help of only one hit. Greenwood reached base with a one-out double. During junior center fielder Rick Reigner's (Havertown, Pa./Monsignor Bonner) at-bat, Greenwood went to third on a wild pitch and came home on a passed ball.

Reigner eventually drew a walk, advanced to second on a wild pitch, went to third on a ground out, and scored the Rams' second run on a wild pitch.

Belmont Abbey (16-5) would score the next 13 runs, five coming in the fifth, to take a 13-2 through five innings.

The Rams fought back with a run in the sixth on a single by junior third baseman Chris Pelaez (Miami, Fla./Sunset). Philadelphia tacked on two more thanks to a RBI single by sophomore designated hitter Ken McCormick (Yardley, Pa./Pennsbury) and a Shellock RBI double.

In the eighth, Philadelphia scored on a double play and an error.

Reliever Matt Davenport earned the win for Belmont Abbey after allowing one run in 4.1 innings of work. The Rams bullpen was strong as it tossed four innings of scoreless relief.
