The Rams struck first, scoring in the second inning on a double hit by freshman third baseman John Sczepanski that brought in sophomore second baseman Kevin Giambri to take the lead 1-0. PhilaU was able to add to their lead in the fourth inning when centerfielder Rick Reigner reached home on a wild pitch by the Devil's junior pitcher Luke Peyton. The fifth would see the first of senior shortstop Anthony DiFrancesco two RBI's that would give the Rams some insurance with a sacrifice fly that scored Gibbs.
The Rams sophomore pitcher Jeffrey Bohus was able to keep the Devils shutout throughout the game until the seventh inning when the Rams watched the game slowly get away from them. USci only had two hits in the inning, but allowed five runs scored on an error and two passed balls.
