Baseball Falls Short 6-3, 1-0 at Caldwell

Caldwell, NJ- The Philadelphia University baseball team (1-11, 0-2 CACC) dropped both games of a doubleheader 6-3 and 1-0 to the Caldwell College Cougars (7-8, 2-0 CACC) on Sunday afternoon. 

In the first game of the day, PhilaU racked up five hits and three RBIs, scoring on sophomore Jeff Bohus' single in the first, sophomore Kevin Giambri's single in the fourth and rookie T.J. Burgmann's single in the sixth inning.  The game was tied 3-3 going into the seventh, but the Cougars ticked off three more runs in the seventh and eighth to hold on for a 6-3 win.

In game two, both teams tallied seven hits.  The game was tied 0-0 until the third inning, when CC scored the lone run and eventual game-winner on a sacrifice fly.  Neither side would score again as the Rams fell 1-0. 

PhilaU rookie hurler Rob Spragis took the loss in the first game, while senior pitcher Jared Farbman took the loss in the second game of the day. 

The Rams host their home-opener on Wednesday (3/23) at 3 p.m. vs. Chestnut Hill College.
