Box Score 2 Philadelphia, PA- The
Philadelphia University baseball team (4-9, 3-3 CACC) won both
games in a double-header against Bloomfield College (4-17, 0-6
CACC) on Saturday afternoon. The team took the first game
16-0 and won the second 4-3.
On the day, PhilaU junior pitcher Kevin
McGovern (Philadelphia, PA/Archbishop Ryan) picked up his
third win, going all nine innings and striking out eight in the
early game. While in second game, junior pitcher
Jared Farbman (Philadelphia, PA/Central) picked up
his first win of the season against the Deacons.
The team's bats were on fire in game one, lighting up for
16 hits. Senior infielder Rob Fisher
(Langhorne, PA/Archbishop Ryan) led the team with five hit and four
RBIs, while freshman Michael DeLaney (Springfield,
PA/Springfield-Delco) scored three runs.
In the second game sophomore infielder Dan
Hennigan (Downingtown, PA/Downingtown West) led the team
scoring three runs and two hits. While freshman outfielder
Mike Ross (Newtown Square, PA/Newtown Square) had
the winning run for the Rams.
The team also led defensively with only one error in each game
vs. Bloomfield's six errors on the day.
The Rams return to action on Sunday (3/28) at Dominican College
at noon.
