Myrtle Beach, SC- The Philadelphia University baseball team opened up the 2010 season this weekend down south, with new Head Coach John DiMeglio at the helm.

The Rams dropped their season-opener 8-3 to Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference (CACC) rival Felician College, and then fell in the nightcap 16-3 to nationally-ranked West Chester University (coached by former PhilaU coach Mark Jackson).

Against WCU, freshman utility Jeff Bohus (Cherry Hill, NJ/ Cherry Hill East) stood out for PhilaU with a two-run homer to knock in senior shortstop Tyler Mentzer (Gettysburg, PA/ Delone Catholic).  Another rookie, pitcher Trevor Dority (Pasadena, CA/ San Marino), contributed an inning of scoreless relief on the mound for the Rams.

The Philly boys get another shot today, as they face Molly College at 10 a.m. and Post University at 1:30 p.m.
