Philadelphia, PA- The Philadelphia University Rams (4-14, 0, 1-1 CACC) took the first game of the day 6-4 and was trailing 8-4 in game two which was suspended due to darkness in the seventh inning vs. the Chestnut Hill College Griffins (6-13, 1-3 CACC) on Wednesday afternoon at Alumni Field. 

In the first game of the double header, the Rams took an early 3-1 lead after putting up three runs in second inning. Two runs scored on  senior catcher Jason Hartley's (Levittown, PA/ Neshaminy) double and he eventually scored on a single by senior outfielder Dan Ellmer (Trenton, NJ/ Nottingham). The Griffins tied it in the top of the 7^th inning- scoring two runs on three base hits, but PhilaU retook the lead in the bottom of the 8^th inning on a double by junior shortstop Tyler Mentzer (Gettysburg, PA/ Delone Catholic) and a single by junior outfielder Mike Anderson (Waldwick, NJ/ Waldwick).

Leading the way in at the plate for the Rams were Menter (2-4, 1 RBI) and Ellmer (3-4, 1 RBI. 

Junior pitcher Brian Rousseau (Wantagh, NY/ Wantagh) picked up the win for the Rams after throwing 2.2 innings in relief, surrendering one hit and striking out six. Freshman hurler Jared Farbman (Philadelphia, PA/ Central) threw six innings and gave up six hits- striking out four Griffin hitters.

In the second half of the double header, the Griffins jumped out to an early 3-0 lead by drawing walks and getting clutch hits with runners in scoring position.

The Rams responded with their own three-run inning in the 4^th to tie it 3-3, but  the Griffins retook the lead in the top of the 5^th inning on homeruns by Mike Knipe and Andrew Donfry. CHC added three more runs in the 6^th inning on a pair of extra base hits to lead 8-3, but PhilaU would score one more before the game was ended due to darkness. The Rams took the 8-4 loss.
