Student Athlete Advisory Committee (SAAC)

Dear Student-Athletes,

Jefferson's Student-Athlete Advisory Committee (SAAC) is now in its 17th year at Thomas Jefferson University. SAAC is an NCAA program designed to help give you, the student-athlete, a voice on issues that affect you and to give you an opportunity to make a difference on your campus and in the community.

The committee is comprised of individual members of each of our 17 varsity sports here at Jefferson. SAAC representatives were selected by nominations from representatives from each varsity intercollegiate athletics team, as well as, nominations from each head coach in coordination with the Director of Athletics and the Jefferson SAAC Advisor.

The main focus of SAAC is to provide input on the rules, regulations and policies that affect the lives of Student-Athlete's on NCAA member institution campuses.  This is accomplished by monthly meetings held on campus throughout the year. In addition, Jefferson is also invited, on an annual basis, to attend Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference (CACC) meetings held at other member institutions.

But SAAC also exists to give us a chance to give something back to the University and our surrounding communities.  SAAC is devoted to working both on- and off-campus to assist our fellow students, student athletes, and neighbors in the community.  SAAC activities in the past have included: WBCA 'Think Pink' Initiative, Fall Sports Kick-Off, Hurricane Katrina Relief Fundraisers, Homecoming Sports Memorabilia Sale, a Dinning Etiquette Program, Ram Madness, Make-A-Wish Foundation, Dodgeball and Penny War Fundraisers, and a Grade School Night at the Men's and Women's basketball games.

It is our goal, with the help of our fellow SAAC representatives, to continue the success of the program and help expand SAAC's presence on campus and in our community, while facilitating a growth in our traditions and involvement. We hope you will continue to access our website for upcoming events and news and feel free to send us or your SAAC representative your thoughts and ideas on any issues or activities. Best of luck this year in your respective seasons. We look forward to seeing you on campus and working with you to make SAAC a valuable part of your college experience.

Thank You!
