Women's Volleyball Sweeps Chestnut Hill in CACC Opener
PHILADELPHIA – Thomas Jefferson University women's volleyball (3-3, 1-0) began their Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference (CACC) season with a home contest against cross town rival Chestnut Hill College (1-3, 0-1). The Rams went to sweep the Griffins 3-0 in Wednesday night action.
WHAT HAPPENED
- First set saw both teams trading points with the Rams edging out the Griffins each time to hold onto their lead. After Chestnut Hill tied it at 19-19, Jefferson registered six of the final eight points in the set to win 25-21
- The Rams changed it up in the second set, pouring the attacks onto the Griffins as they got ahead 12-4. Jefferson never let up, putting six points in a row at one point, to conclude set two 25-10
- Third set had a competitive feel early on as it was tied 9-9 off a Griffins kill. The Rams took the next four points that began a 16-6 run, ending the match in a 25-15 victory and securing the sweep for Jefferson
- Emily McKenna led the team with 16 kills, Meredith Adams had 21 assists, and Kate Hines recorded 10 digs. Jaysa Even and Liz Tanis produced three blocks apiece

Jefferson will now host a tri-match on Saturday, September 20 as they welcome Southern Connecticut State University and Millersville University to the Gallagher Center. The Rams play the Owls at 11 a.m. and the Marauders at 3 p.m. Southern Connecticut State and Millersville will go against one another at 1 p.m.
