Women's Volleyball Splits Tri-Match
EAST STROUDSBURG, PA – Thomas Jefferson University women's volleyball team (4-9) competed in a tri-match this afternoon against Saint Anselm College (4-7) and host East Stroudsburg University (9-2) in non-conference action. The Rams defeated the Hawks in three sets while falling to the Warriors in straight sets.
WHAT HAPPENED
GAME ONE: W, 3-0 vs Saint Anselm

Saint Anselm took the first three points to start the third set. Jefferson went on a 17-4 run to get ahead, seeing multiple kills by Areola and McKenna while Bond, Ritchie, and Liz Tanis had one apiece.

The Hawks looked to get back in the contest, getting as close as six points, but the Rams held on and won the third set 25-16, securing the sweep.

After East Stroudsburg went up in the third, Jefferson climbed back to get within one point, 9-8, as Yalerie Acevedo had three kills during that stretch while Tanis had a kill and service ace.

Jefferson had a few players achieve some milestones within their career.

Morgan Ritchie is now fourth all-time in Jefferson history in kills with 1,139, passing Jess Molen, Chelsea Hughes, and Ashley Conlantonio on the list. She is only eight kills from passing Celena Rendon for third all-time in Rams history

Cameron Johnson, after becoming Jefferson's all-time leader in digs, has now become the only Ram to eclipse 1,600 career digs in her career. She currently has 1,620 digs

Caroline Bond has now achieved 3,000 assists in her career. She recorded 1,787 during her time at Emerson College. She currently has 1,229 as a Ram.

Jefferson will now take a break as they only have one game next week. The Rams will prepare for their matchup on Friday, September 27 as the Rams take on Chestnut Hill College at 6 p.m. as Jefferson celebrates Homecoming weekend.
