Women's Volleyball Falls in Five Set Heartbreaker to Post
WATERBURY, Conn. - Thomas Jefferson University women's volleyball (11-15, 6-5) had a 2-0 lead in the series, but Post University (16-8, 11-1) came back to win the series as the Rams were downed in Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference (CACC) to the Eagles 3-2 in Saturday afternoon competition.
WHAT HAPPENED
- With the Rams holding a 15-12 lead, they went to put up a 10-5 run at the end of the first set to take it 25-17. They benefited from 10 Eagles attacking errors, with five being blocks from Liz Tanis, Caroline Bond, Emily McKenna, and Morgan Martin
- Second set was competitive, with the Eagles and Rams trading points. Jefferson eventually held a one-point lead before taking nine of the last 10 points to win it 25-16 and hold the advantage over Post
- Third set saw another competitive battle, with Post taking it 26-24 as they earned four of the last five points
- The Eagles controlled the fourth, pushing the attack to Jefferson. The Rams got within five points near the end, but Post took the final point to win 25-19 and take it to a fifth set
- Post had a four-point and five-point run in the set, taking an advantage over Jefferson. The Rams looked to bounce back but ultimately fell 15-7 in the fifth set as they dropped the series 3-2
