PHILADELPHIA, PA – Thomas Jefferson University women's volleyball (5-10, 1-1) faced a familiar foe once again as they took on Chestnut Hill College (7-5, 1-2) in Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference (CACC) action Wednesday night. The Rams faced the Griffins last Friday, where they beat them 3-0. With this contest, Jefferson did not have the match go their way as they fell to Chestnut Hill 3-0 at Sorgenti Arena.
 
WHAT HAPPENED

• First set was even between both teams, trading points and the lead between one another. The Rams had a 10-6 lead, but the Griffins went on a 6-1 run to go ahead of Jefferson
• The Rams retook the lead, but each team went back and forth with points and runs
• Chestnut Hill had match point, with Jefferson getting a kill by Morgan Martin and an attack error to tie it all at 24-24
• The Griffins took the final two points, winning the first set 26-24
• The Rams went up 5-3 early in the second set, seeing Martin, Pemi Areola, and Emily McKenna make kills for Jefferson
• Being down 6-5, Chestnut Hill used a 7-1 run to give themselves the lead they would never give up in the set
• The Rams got as close as four points, but a 11-2 run in the end finished the second set 25-12 in favor of the Griffins
• The third set was back and forth again, seeing teams trade points. Areola, Martin, and McKenna had kills in the set alongside Morgan Ritchie and Liz Tanis
• After the set was tied at 19-19, Chestnut Hill took six of the last seven points to win 25-20 and earn the CACC victory over Jefferson 3-0
