Baseball Defeats Saint Thomas Aquinas For Fifth Straight Win

PHILADELPHIA – The Thomas Jefferson University baseball team (5-4) kept its win streak going with a 12-7 victory over Saint Thomas Aquinas at Alumni Field on Tuesday.
 
GAMEPLAY
The Rams went off for nine runs in the first inning, sending 12 batters to the plate and recording eight hits. The highlight of the frame was a three-run homer by Ryan Sawyer. The Spartans got on the board with a three-run third but Jefferson answered with two in the bottom half on an error and a wild pitch.
 
STAC pushed a run across in the fourth on a wild pitch to make it 11-4. The Spartans scored two more in the seventh via a RBI double and a sacrifice fly. Lucas DeStefano singled in a run in the bottom of the seventh to up the Rams' lead to six (12-6). STAC tallied the final run of the day in the eighth on a RBI single.
