PHILADELPHIA – The Thomas Jefferson University baseball team (3-4) swept a doubleheader against visiting Lincoln (Pa.) on Saturday, earning 7-5 and 13-3 victories.
GAME 1 – W, 7-5
The Lions tallied the first run of the day with a RBI single in the second but the Rams came back with three runs in the bottom half.
Ryan Sawyer recorded a run-scoring single then scored on an error.
Chris McLean also drove in a run with a double.
Lincoln posted a run in the third and fourth frames to tie the score at three.
Efrain Santiago broke the deadlock in the fifth, smacking a RBI double to left center to put Jefferson ahead 4-3. The Rams added three insurance runs in the sixth as McLean knocked in a run with a base hit,
Lucas DeStefano drew a bases-loaded walk, and Santiago plated another run with a single.
The Lions pushed two runs across in the seventh but
Matt Bukavich was able to finish off the win and pick up his first save of the season.

Jefferson got going early with three runs in the first on a pair of wild pitches and a groundout. The Rams padded their lead with a six-run second.
Efrain Santiago doubled in two runs,
Josh Lopez smacked in a RBI double,
Ryan Sawyer laced a two-run triple, and
Arturo Figueroa plated one with a base hit.
A bases-loaded walk and a passed ball upped the Jefferson advantage to 11 in the third. Lincoln got on the board with a solo homer in the fourth. The Rams tacked on two more in the fifth on a wild pitch and an error. The Lions closed the scoring with one run in the sixth and seventh innings.
