LINCOLN UNIVERSITY, Pa. – The Thomas Jefferson University baseball team (4-4) defeated Lincoln (Pa.), 11-4, in non-conference action on Sunday afternoon. The Rams have won four in a row since dropping their first four contests of the season.
GAMEPLAY
Both teams pushed a run across in the first inning.
Josh Lopez singled up the middle to put Jefferson ahead 1-0 but the Lions came back with a RBI groundout in the bottom half. The Rams went off for four runs in the third.
Chris McLean came home on an
Efrain Santiago sacrifice fly, Lopez singled in another run then scored on an error, and
Ryan Sawyer came home on a passed ball.
Santiago increased the lead to six (7-1) with a two-run homer in the fourth. Lincoln closed the gap to four (7-3) with a two-run seventh on a hit by pitch with the bases loaded and a sac fly. In the eighth, Jefferson used a passed ball and a sacrifice fly to make it 9-3.
After a wild pitch in the bottom of the eighth made it 9-4, the Rams added two final runs in the ninth. Sawyer scored on an error and
Joe Cencetti laced a RBI single through the right side.
