Men's Basketball Has Uncustomary Offensive Shortage Versus Saint Anselm

PHILADELPHIA – The Thomas Jefferson University men's basketball team (6-3) suffered a 67-51 loss to visiting Saint Anselm in non-conference action on Saturday afternoon.
 
GAMEPLAY
The Rams posted the first four points of the contest but the Hawks answered with the next nine to take a 9-4 lead. Saint Anselm built the advantage to nine (18-9) with 9:38 on the clock. The Hawks maintained at least a two-possession margin over the next six minutes. With the score 26-17, Jefferson went on a 7-0 run to close the gap to two (26-24) with 2:10 left in the half. However, Saint Anselm came back with seven of the last nine to take a 33-26 lead into halftime.
 
The Rams made a pair of layups to begin the second half, making it a three-point contest (33-30). The Hawks responded with a 10-4 stretch to get the cushion back to nine (43-34). The margin was at least two possessions for the rest of the game. With the score 58-47 at the 5:39 mark, Saint Anselm iced the victory with a 9-0 surge for its largest lead of the afternoon (67-47).
