RUTHERFORD, N.J. - The Thomas Jefferson University volleyball team (22-4, 13-4 CACC) defeated host Felician, 3-0, in a CACC match on Sunday afternoon.
 
GAMEPLAY
The Rams jumped out to a 4-0 lead in the first set. The score was 6-2 when the Golden Falcons rallied with five straight points to take a 7-6 advantage. Felician was still in front 9-8 when Jefferson scored four in a row to go back ahead. At 14-12, the Golden Falcons surged forward with a 7-0 run to make it 19-14. Felician had two set points at 24-22 but the Rams responded with three points to take a one-point lead. The teams went back and forth before Jefferson capitalized on an attack error then recorded a kill to win the frame 30-28.
 
The Rams carried the momentum into the second stanza, getting out to a 9-3 advantage. Trailing 15-10, Felician came back with five points to even the score. The teams were even at 17 then Jefferson posted the next three to take control. The Golden Falcons closed to within one (23-22) but the Rams tallied a kill followed by a service ace to take the set 25-22.
 
Felician had an early 3-1 lead in the third before Jefferson answered with seven of the next eight to go ahead 8-4. The Rams held a six-point cushion (15-9) but the Golden Falcons went on a 6-0 run to even things up. Jefferson had a 19-18 lead before Felician went in front with three points. However, the Rams responded with five to bring up match point and they went on to clinch the match with a 25-22 win.

CACC PLAYOFF PICTURE
With one match remaining in the regular season, Jefferson continues to sit in third place in the CACC South Division. The Rams are one game back of Wilmington (Del.) in the loss column. The Wildcats finish the regular season at home versus Georgian Court followed by a trip to Felician on Saturday. Jefferson's final match is on Saturday versus Dominican (N.Y.). The top two teams in the division earn the right to host a quarterfinal match in the conference tournament.
