PHILADELPHIA – The Thomas Jefferson University volleyball team (23-4, 14-4 CACC) wrapped up the regular season with a 3-0 sweep of Dominican (N.Y.) at the Gallagher Center on Saturday afternoon.
GAMEPLAY
The Chargers recorded the first point of the match but the Rams answered with eight straight points to go in front. Jefferson led by as many as 10 during the set and cruised to a 25-15 victory.
The Rams held an 11-8 advantage in the second before Dominican rallied for six in a row to go ahead 14-11. The Chargers nursed a four-point cushion (19-15) but Jefferson embarked on a 10-1 run to close the set and shock the visitors 25-20.
Jefferson got out to a 6-2 edge in the third. Dominican gained the momentum with a 6-1 run to take an 8-7 lead. However, the Rams came right back with six consecutive to take control 13-8. The Chargers were within four (18-14) but Jefferson finished the match with a 7-2 stretch to win 25-16.
