Women's volleyball suffers 3-0 loss to Georgian Court

LAKEWOOD, N.J. – The Philadelphia University women's volleyball team was defeated by host Georgian Court 3-0 (25-18, 25-16, 25-16) in a Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference (CACC) match Friday night in the Wellness Center.

Philadelphia is now 7-10 overall, while Georgian Court goes to 9-10. Both teams are 5-3 in CACC play.

Outside hitter Erin Lyman (Algonquin, Ill./Huntley) led the Philadelphia offense with six kills, while middle hitters Chelsea Hughes (Wading River, N.Y./Shoreham-Wading River) and Lauren Laucella (Horsham, Pa./Hatboro-Horsham) had five each.

Setter Nina Morvin (Willow Grove, Pa./Saint Basil Academy) tallied 12 assists and four digs.

Tatiana Rodriguez recorded a match-high 11 kills, four service aces, and hit .500 to pace the Lions. Jhoan Agosto Rivera contributed 10 kills.

Kelsey Oliver recorded 29 assists and eight digs, both match-highs.

Philadelphia returns to the Gallagher Center for a Homecoming Day CACC match against Dominican (N.Y.) on Saturday, Oct. 11 at noon.
