Men's soccer knocked off in double OT by No. 13 Post, 2-1

WATERBURY, Conn. – The Philadelphia University men's soccer team was defeated by No. 13 Post in a battle of the top two teams of the Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference (CACC), 2-1 in double overtime, Sunday afternoon on LaMoy Field.

The Rams, who entered the match in second place in the conference is now 7-4-1 overall and 5-2-1 in the CACC. Post improves to 10-1-0 overall, 8-1-0 against the conference.

The Eagles' Francisco Sastre scored the match-winning goal 57 seconds into the second overtime session after receiving a through ball down the left side from Jon Dzurilla.

Senior defender David Lawrence (Wilbraham, Mass./Wilbraham & Monson Academy) sent the contest to overtime when he scored the equalizing goal with 4:05 left in regulation on a free kick. It was Lawrence's second goal of the 2013 season.

Post took a 1-0 lead in the 19th minute on a goal by Jean Louis Cadet on a long throw-in.

Junior goalkeeper Thomas Attamante (West Orange, N.J./West Orange) made a season-high seven saves in the loss. Post's Andre Lindsay stopped five shots.

Philadelphia outshot Post in regulation 13-7, but the Eagles owned the shot advantage in the overtimes 4-0.

Philadelphia welcomes first-year program Georgian Court to Ravenhill Field for a CACC contest on Wednesday, Oct. 16 at 4 p.m.
