CONSHOHOCKEN, Pa. (Sept. 29, 2026) – The Thomas Jefferson University men's soccer team broke out in a big way with a 4-2 victory against Goldey-Beacom College on Tuesday afternoon -- the program's first against an NCAA opponent this year.
Tuesday's game was contested at The Proving Grounds in Conshohocken, Pa. for a second-consecutive week as the Ravenhill Field recovers from this past weekend's Nor'easter. Playing on the turf once again, the Rams offense answered the call with four goals, but those goals proved more significant given the flow of the game.
The Lightning opened with two quick goals, providing the young Rams with plenty of adversity to deal with over the remaining 85 minutes. From that point on, Jefferson outscored Goldey-Beacom 4-0, dominating both chances and possession for the remainder of the game. The Rams finally got on the board off a header from
Brandon Murataj (Abington, Pa. / Abington) off a corner kick from senior
Miles Hood (Newark, Del. / Caravel Academy). Hood assisted on a corner kick during last week's game against Bryant & Stratton College, and once again, the midfielder delivered to jump start the Jefferson attack. The finish from Murataj was every bit as good, as the athletic center back redirected the ball up and over the opposition.
Senior forward
Cole McEvoy (Gap, Pa. Pequea Valley / Loyola University Maryland) piled up the chances early, finishing the game with five total shots. However, he finally got on the board in the 43rd minute when freshman
Jude Clymer (Quakertown, Pa. / Faith Christian) fed him from the midfield, giving the transfer forward a clear chance at the equalizer. The go-ahead goal came six minutes into the second half when senior
Ishmeal Kromah (Norristown, Pa. / Norristown), streaking down the left side, was taken down inside the box to set up a McEvoy penalty attempt. The senior buried the penalty into the right side of the net to notch the go-ahead goal as the Rams successfully completed their climb out of the early hole.
The final goal came in the game's waning minutes with senior forward
Mohamed Elhendawy (West Chester, Pa. / Bayard Rustin) converting off a great pass from Kromah. The Rams' tenacity is worth mentioning, as is the play of sophomore goalkeeper
J.R. Sexton (Kitchener, Ontario, Canada / St. Mary's Kitchener), who rebounded from early adversity to make double-digit saves and hold the Lightning off the scoreboard for the game's final 85 minutes.
