Box Score 2 PHILADELPHIA – The Philadelphia University women's volleyball team earned a pair of 3-0 victories over the University of the Sciences and East Stroudsburg in a doubleheader played in the Gallagher Center Tuesday night.
The Lady Rams defeated Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference (CACC) foe University of the Sciences by set scores of 25-21, 25-20, 25-23. In the victory over the Warriors, the scores were 25-14, 25-19, 26-24.
With the victories, Philadelphia improves to 12-6 overall and 7-3 in the CACC.
Against the Devils (10-10, 5-5 CACC), outside hitter Brittany Olson led the Lady Rams with a match-high 14 kills, eight digs, and a hitting percentage of .343 (14 kills, two errors, 35 attacks). Outside hitter Danielle Carney recorded 12 digs and eight kills, while outside hitter Terra Ecker added seven kills.
Setter Heather Martin recorded a double-double with 15 digs and 14 assists. Allyson Schillinger led the team with 15 assists. Libero Morgan McCarthy had a team-best 16 digs.
Caitlyn Crawford led the Devils with 11 kills. Kaileen Bevenour had 31 assists, while Stacy Wooden recorded a match-high 25 digs.
Outside hitter Allison Manley and Olson paced the Lady Rams with six kills each in the victory over East Stroudsburg (7-11). Manley added a team-high 14 digs. Carney and Ecker contributed five kills apiece. Martin tallied 16 assists and McCarthy pitched in with 13 digs.
The Lady Rams played well defensively and forced the Warriors to hit -.008 (28-29-127) in the match.
East Stroudsburg's Kaitlin Behrens had a match-high 12 kills.
Philadelphia gets right back to work with a non-conference match against Millersville on Wednesday, Oct. 10 at 6 p.m.
