Box Score Philadelphia, PA- The Philadelphia University
Rams (16-6, 8-1 CACC) continued to be victorious in an 88-57 win
over Concordia College (3-16, 3-7 CACC) on Saturday at the
Gallagher Athletic Center. The win was number 896 for Head
Coach Herb Magee, putting him within four games of the magic 900
all-time wins milestone. The team is on a seven-game roll.
PhilaU senior guard Russell Frederick
(Baltimore, MD/ Calvert Hall) led all scorers with 29 points (6-9
from three-point range).
The Rams distanced themselves from CC using 50% field goal
shooting and making 45% of their three-balls (to CC's 25%).
The Clippers were led by 12 points each from Argelix Gil and
William Eason.
An 11-11 lock early in the first half was quickly broken on a
trey by PhilaU rookie Jim Connolly (Harleysville,
PA/ Souderton) just two plays later- and the Rams never glanced
back again. Connolly had eight points and five boards on the
night.
A 13-0 run mid-way through the first half gave PhilaU a 39-20
advantage, helped by two buckets from Ram senior forward
Malcolm Ingram (Philadelphia, PA/ Solebury Prep)-
who had 18 points and 12 rebounds on the afternoon.
PhilaU led 41-24 at the half.
In the second half, PhilaU dominated from nearly every angle as
sophomore forward Corey Francisco (Woodbridge, NJ/
Monmouth Academy) racked up eight points in the later period. He
finished with 10 points and four rebounds.
PhilaU takes the court next on Saturday (2/6) at Caldwell
College at 4 p.m.
