Lady Rams Close 2008 Season with 21-7 Loss at C.W. Post

Senior Allison Kessler (pictured), playing in the final collegiate game of her career, tallied three goals and one assist, but it wasn't enough as the Philadelphia University women's lacrosse team dropped a 21-7 decision to C.W. Post on Sunday afternoon in Brookville, N.Y.  With the loss, the Lady Rams close the season with a 12-5 record under first-year Head Coach Jenn Devinney.

The host Pioneers, ranked #1 in the latest IWLCA rankings, scored 11 of the game's first 12 goals for a commanding early lead.  Devinney's team bounced back, however, outscoring C.W. Post 5-1 in the final eight minutes of the first half to close within 12-6.  Highlighting the run for the Lady Rams was Kessler with two goals and fellow senior Shannon Shippey with a goal and an assist.  The Pioneers responded with a run of their own to put the game away though, opening the second frame with seven straight goals en route to the victory.
