Rams Tame Cougars on Senior Day Behind Frederick the Great

Box Score

Sophomore point guard Russell Frederick (Joppa, Md./Calvert Hall) registered a career-high 25 points and dished out five assists in leading the Philadelphia University men's basketball team to a 72-54 win over visiting Caldwell College on Saturday afternoon at the Gallagher Center.  The victory is the sixth straight for Head Coach Herb Magee's team, which improves to 18-11 overall and a perfect 15-0 in the Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference (CACC).

Joining Frederick in double-digit scoring was senior forward Jason Hickenbottom (Philadelphia, Pa./Simon Gratz) with 20 points to go along with eight rebounds while sophomore forward Malcolm Ingram (Philadelphia, Pa./Solebury Prep) finished with ten points.  The Cougars (10-16, 8-7) were led by junior forward Manny Perez (Egg Harbor Township, N.J./Egg Harbor Township) with 13 points.

The Senior Day triumph allows the Rams to remain on Herb Magee Court at The Gallagher Center as long as they advance throughout the CACC postseason tournament, which will begin next Saturday, March 1, 2008 as Philadelphia University hosts a quarterfinal-round game against a South Division opponent yet-to-be-determined.
