Richard Joa joined the baseball coaching staff prior to the 2022 season.

Joa played for the Rams from 2017-21. In his final year, he was named to the ABCA All-Region First Team, D2CCA and NCBWA All-Region Second Teams, All-CACC First Team, CACC All-Academic Team, and CoSIDA Academic All-District Team. Joa helped lead the Rams to a 23-11 record, their best winning percentage (.676) in over three decades, and a spot in the CACC Championship Game.

Joa graduated with a bachelor's degree in health sciences.
