Softball Splits Against Molloy

PHILADELPHIA – Thomas Jefferson University softball (12-12) competed in a non-conference doubleheader against Molloy University (8-20) on Monday. The Rams fell in game one in five innings, but came back in game two to earn a 7-4 victory. 

WHAT HAPPENED 
GAME ONE: L, 11-2 (FIVE INNINGS) 

• Jefferson scored on an outfield error to go up 1-0 in the first inning. Molloy capitalized on an error for the Rams to put up six runs 

• Lily Hutt hit a one-run double to get the team within four. The Lions had five runs in the fifth 

• Jefferson were unable to comeback and ultimately fell 11-2 in game one 

• Bailey Maloney, Lauren Bernaiche, and Devin Brandley all appeared on the mound for the Rams

GAME TWO: W, 7-4 

• Molloy got ahead 2-0 early in the first inning, but the Rams responded with four runs in the next two innings. Hutt had a two-run single in the bottom of the first while Alleigh Waskie got a two-run single in the second to make it 4-2 

• The Lions tied it in the third that kept Molloy in the contest. Jefferson went ahead in the fourth from a Caitlyn Senkow three-run triple to have the Rams ahead 7-4 

• The Rams went to hold on and earned the 7-4 victory 

• MaryKate Armstrong got the win with Delaney Alix earning the save on the day
