Baseball Slated for Third in CACC Coaches' Preseason Poll
NEW HAVEN, Conn. - Thomas Jefferson University baseball has produced their best play over the past five seasons, with the last two being historic for the program. The Rams look to keep up that success as they were slated at third place in the Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference (CACC) Coaches' Preseason Poll, announced by the conference office this morning.
The Rams are coming off their best season in school history, finishing with a 40-17 record, the most wins in a single season in program history, climbing up in the national rankings in multiple polls, making the CACC playoffs, and being the top-seed in the NCAA East Region Tournament. Jefferson hosting was a first for the program as well.
Pat Horvath leads the Rams for his 16th season, earning his own spot in school history as the all-time winningest baseball coach the program has ever had and is six away from 300 career wins.
Jefferson begins their year down at Fairfax, Virginia as the Rams take on Indiana University of Pennsylvania on Saturday, February 21 in a doubleheader. The Rams follow that up with a battle against Saint Anselm College on Sunday, February 22.
