Women's Lacrosse Falls to No.25 Dominican (N.Y.) Despite Strong Effort at Home
PHILADELPHIA– Despite a back-and-forth battle through the first half, the Thomas Jefferson University Rams couldn't keep pace in the final quarter, falling 14-8 to the No.25 nationally-ranked Dominican University (N.Y.) Chargers on Saturday afternoon in a key CACC matchup.
WHAT HAPPENED
- The Rams (6-7, 4-1 CACC) showed grit and resilience, matching the undefeated Chargers (10-1, 6-0 CACC) through two quarters.
- A pair of goals from attacker Reagan Rogers helped cut Dominican's early 3-0 lead to 3-2 by the end of the first quarter.
- Goals from Gabby Modzelewski, Emily Ryder, and Iris Gluck in the second frame kept Jefferson within one at halftime, trailing 6-5.
- The game turned in the second half as Dominican's offense surged. Dominican outscored Jefferson 8-3 after halftime, including a 5-2 advantage in the fourth quarter to seal the win.
