Women's Lacrosse Defeats Chestnut Hill in Final Regular Season Road Game
PHILADELPHIA, PA – Thomas Jefferson University women's lacrosse (7-7, 5-1) had their final regular season road game on the year as they traveled to cross town rival Chestnut Hill College (2-8, 2-6) where the Rams put a stamp on the contest, winning 18-4 in Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference (CACC) action on Tuesday night.
WHAT HAPPENED
- Jefferson started off strong with five goals in the first quarter. Lilly Lutz, Gabby Modzelewski, and Meaghan Avanzato all had a goal before the first five minutes passed. Avanzato added a second one while Iris Gluck got her shot in the back of the net with a man-up. Reagan Rogers put four of her career-high six assists in the first 15 minutes of action
- The Griffins got a goal to begin the second, but that didn't slow down the Rams as they added six in a row. Rogers put the first and last goal of that attack with Modzelewski, Emily Ryder, Emma Baker, and Gluck joining alongside her. Chestnut Hill put two goals before the break, cutting Jefferson's lead to 11-3 at the half
- The Rams got back to the double digits again as three goals in the third turned it to a 1-43 contest. Gluck scored her third man-up goal of the night. Ryder and Lutz added their own a 1:25 seconds after Gluck's to get the running clock going into the fourth quarter.
- Lutz opened the fourth with a man-up goal while Baker and Modzelewski scored the final three goals for the Rams as Jefferson earned the 18-4 victory
- Kalyn Ammerlaan had five saves while allowing three goals in her win at the goalie spot. Victoria Rossi added three saves in the fourth quarter
- Gluck added seven draw controls on the night, putting her only three away from 200 in her career
