Women's Lacrosse Stays Perfect in Conference Play with Win Over Georgian Court
LAKEWOOD, N.J. – Thomas Jefferson University women's lacrosse (6-6, 4-0) looked to keep their conference play perfect as they battled Georgian Court University (3-9, 2-2) in Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference (CACC) action on Tuesday. The Rams put up 10 goals in two quarters, holding their lead to the end with a 15-11 victory over the Lions.
WHAT HAPPENED
- The first quarter was high-scoring, seeing nine goals between both teams. Lilly Lutz and Gabby Modzelewski had the first goals of the game. Georgian Court put two of their own up before Emily Ryder nailed her shot in. The Lions went ahead 4-3 after Nena Menard and Jill Konschak scored, but Jefferson bounced back as Reagan Rogers and Taylor Hood made their shots to turn the game into a 5-4 Ram lead heading to the second.
- Rams kept their attack in the second with five goals once more as Rogers had two while Lutz, Hood, and Modzelewski put up one apiece with Jefferson going to the break ahead 10-6
- Georgian Court cut the Rams lead to two three minutes in the third quarter, but Hood and iris Gluck put their own goals in to keep the four-point lead
- Gluck added another goal in the fourth quarter with Rogers and Emma Baker to help Jefferson seal their 15-11 CACC victory
