Softball Takes Early Innings in Both Games Over Post

PHILADELPHIA – Thomas Jefferson University softball (11-23, 10-8) earned the running rule in both contests over Post University (4-32, 2-16) to take the sweep over the Eagles in Thursday afternoon Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference (CACC) action.

WHAT HAPPENED
GAME ONE: W, 8-0 (5 INNINGS)

  • The Rams eventually broke the tie as MacKenzie Ward sacrifice flyout to left field allowed Jordan Diering to make homeplate for a 1-0 lead in the fifth inning
  • After holding the Eagles to another scoreless inning, Jefferson began to pile the runs in the sixth. Remy Smith hit a one-run single to center field to get the first run while a Hutt double with a throwing error made it 3-0. Sabrina Pastino put another run with a single to the right side. Annie Eliason turned it to a 6-0 game as she hit a two-run homerun to left field.
  • An Eagles fielding error gave the Rams a 7-0 lead, with Bridget Shields one-run single to the left field ended game one with an 8-0 win in six innings
