Men's Basketball Ends Season in Overtime Loss to Post
PHILADELPHIA, PA – Thomas Jefferson University men's basketball (16-13) kept it back-and-forth in the CACC Tournament Semifinals as they went against Post University (18-12) in Saturday evening action. The men had a lead in the fourth quarter, but the Eagles rallied to take it to overtime where they eventually went ahead and defeated the Rams 85-78.
WHAT HAPPENED
- The Eagles were ahead in the first half by one=point, a difference that mattered in the game
- Going ahead 10-2, Jefferson went on a 10-0 run to get ahead and would be the name of the game in this match; both teams trading points and runs
- Rams kept their the game close with two free throws to end the half and make it 34-33 in favor of Post
- Jefferson kept the attack on the Eagles, eventually being up 61-54 with 7:53 to go. Post responded in fashion, having a 10-3 run to tie it at 64-64
- Game was tied and headed to overtime after a three-pointer by the Eagles just bounced out of the rim
- After being within one point of each other, Post 1307 run in the final minute of gameplay to defeat Jefferson 85-78
- Justin Hawkins and Sean Fullerton led the team with 23 and 18 points respectively. Troy McGregor and Isaiah Thomas-McClain put up 11 points apiece
