MILLERSVILLE, PA – Thomas Jefferson University softball (0-4) competed against their second PSAC opponent as they took on Millersville University (7-2). The Rams dropped both their contests to the Marauders, a close 1-0 contest in game one and a 9-4 defeat in game two.
 
WHAT HAPPENED
GAME ONE: L, 1-0

• Millersville capitalized early in the game, which proved to be the difference maker, as a Vaughan single to right field led to an error that got the Marauders an early 1-0 lead in the bottom of the first.
• The rest of the way would see multiple instances of three batters down by both teams. Pezzone and Delaney Alix had multiple strikeouts, with Alix having four on the day
• The top of the sixth saw Jefferson have a close attempt at getting a score as a Lily Hutt single, Elizabeth Proctor walk, and Remy Smith single loaded the bases with one out
• The Marauders got a double play to escape the Rams attempt at getting on the board and securing the first game

GAME TWO: L, 9-4

• The second game began with the Rams getting an early lead as Bridget Shields single to right field brought Smith to homeplate and a 1-0 lead for Jefferson. The Marauders began to score as they had at least one run in five of the six innings they batted in
• Millersville had two runs in the bottom of the first and third inning while having one runner make homeplate in the fourth to have it at 5-1
• Caitlyn Senkow sacrifice flyout to centerfield added another run for the Rams
• Sydnie Lanasa nailed a two-run homerun to left field and had Jefferson trailing 6-4 in the top of the sixth.
• Millersville pulled away as they tacked on three runs in the bottom of the same inning to secure a 9-4 victory and the sweep over the Rams
• Hutt pitched four innings for the Rams, allowing five hits and five runs. Devin Brandley pitched the final two innings, giving up six hits and four runs while striking out two batters
