Softball Falls in Doubleheader to Bloomsburg
BLOOMSBURG, PA – Thomas Jefferson University softball (1-13) made a quick turnaround from their Florida trip as the Rams took on Bloomsburg University (5-3). Jefferson fell in five and six innings respectively to the Huskies in the doubleheader.
WHAT HAPPENED
GAME ONE: L, 8-0 (5 INNINGS)
- The Huskies got a three-run homerun in the first to go up early in the game. Two scores in the second inning made it 5-0
- Jefferson threatened with a score as Claudia Alldred made it to third base in the top of the fourth, but two outs thwarted the Rams attempt
- The bottom of the fifth saw the Huskies add three more runs, completing the series with an 8-0 win
- Devin Brandley pitched two innings for the Jefferson while Liv Stevens ended the game with 2.1 innings under her belt

- Second game started in favor of the Rams as a MacKenzie Ward sacrifice flyout to right field got Sydnie Lanasa to homeplate, making it a 1-0 lead in the top of the second\
- Bloomsburg captured the lead in the bottom of the same inning with a one-run double and single to be up 2-1
- A run in the third and fourth made it 4-1 for Bloomsburg. They added three more scores in the fifth and two in the bottom of the sixth to conclude the second game 9-1
- Lily Hutt started for the Rams, pitching three innings with only one earned run and one strikeout. Stevens came in and pitched two, giving up one earned run as well with two strikeouts. Madeline Holmes ended the day in the sixth inning on the mound for Jefferson
