Women's Tennis Holds Onto 4-3 Win Over West Virginia State


PHILADELPHIA – After earning the doubles point and two singles forfeit, the Thomas Jefferson University women's tennis team (8-7) held on to a 4-3 win against West Virginia State University (1-1). 

WHAT HAPPENED 

  • After the forfeit in the third position, the Yellow Jackets earned the first spot victory to tie it at 1-1. Emily Frost and Rose Huang won 6-4 to take the first point on the day for Jefferson 

  • Getting up 3-0 as Anna Morgillo and Zenia Barretto earned forfeit wins, West Virginia State started to get momentum in their games as they lead three of the four contests. They eventually won the first, fourth, and third positions to tie it all at 3-3 

  • Alycia Veroux helped the Rams earn their win after a close first set to win 7-6 (7-5), 6-2 to make it 4-3 for Jefferson
