Softball Opens Season Against #16 East Stroudsburg


EAST STROUDSBURG, PA – Thomas Jefferson University softball (0-2) began their 2025 season on Wednesday as they headed on the road to face against #16 East Stroudsburg University (11-3). The Warriors took both contests over the Rams with a 8-0 score in game one and 6-2 in game two. 

WHAT HAPPENED 
GAME ONE: L, 8-0 (FIVE INNINGS) 

  • After a scoreless first inning from both teams, East Stroudsburg added three runs in the second to take an early lead 

  • The third saw a wild pitch score for the Warriors to go up 4-0. Another four scores finished game one with an 8-0 contest after five innings 

  • Delaney Alix began her first collegiate game, allowing 7 hits but only one earned run on the day while striking out four batters. Liv Stevens came in to have one earned run as well

GAME TWO: L, 6-2 

  • The second game begins similar to the first with East Stroudsburg adding two early runs in the first and adding to it with one in the second and two in the third 

  • After a scoreless fourth by both teams, Jefferson scored their first run on the season at the top of the fifth as Tori Lipka ground out at first let Jordan Diering score to get the Rams on the board. Another score in the sixth as Elizabeth Proctor ran to homeplate from a sacrifice fly by Sabrina Lanasa to make it a 5-2 game 

  • The Warriors put a run in the sixth and got the next three Ram batters out to take a 6-2 victory 

  • Devin Brandley pitched 2.2 innings, allowing seven hits and four runs with a strikeout. Lily Hutt pitched the next 3.1 innings, giving up only four hits,one earned run, and strikeout as well.
