Women's Basketball Begins Season with Wins Over Queens (N.Y.) and Molloy
ROCKVILLE CENTRE, N.Y. – Thomas Jefferson University women's basketball (2-0) started their year up in New York as they competed in the East Region Challenge, hosted by Molloy University. The Rams went to win both their games, first with a 82-57 victory over Queens College (N.Y.) and then beating the host Lions 70-55.
WHAT HAPPENED
JEFFERSON VS QUEENS (N.Y.)
- Both offense began the year with a spark as each team had 20+ points in the first half. The Knights went 10-of-15 in the first quarter while Jefferson went 10-of-19. Queens hit two three points while the Rams converted 6-7 at the charity strip to get ahead 26-23
- Jefferson went to open the second quarter with five and get their lead to double digits at the half.
- The Rams continued their attack, scoring 26 points in the third quarter to eventually rout Queens 82-57

- The Lions kept up with Jefferson, but the Rams scored nine of the last 11 points to be ahead 19-10 after the first quarter
- Jefferson was able to edge Molloy in the second quarter with a 14-11 scoring differential to make it 33-21 at the break
- The Rams continued their attack with 17 points in the third and 20 in the fourth to leave with a 70-55 victory
