Men's Basketball Holds Onto CACC Win Against Wilmington

WILMINGTON, DE. - After the Wildcats hit a three pointer with five seconds left in the game, Jeremiah Dorsey capped off his night with two free throws to secure Thomas Jefferson University men's basketball (9-6, 3-2) a 84-79 Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference (CACC) win over Wilmington University (4-12, 2-2) on Tuesday evening action. 

WHAT HAPPENED 

• Jefferson held the first half with 40 points in the quarter. Dorsey connected on a three to begin the game for the Rams, a start to his career-high 25 points on the night. Sean Fullerton earned the next seven points before Farouk Kaba hit his jumper 

• Justin Hawkins followed his teammates lead by putting up 13 of the next 16 Jefferson points to get the game even at 28-28. Troy McGregor earned the three-pointer during that run 

• Dorsey made another three while connecting on the last shot of the half while McGregor connected on his shot from the floor and Isaiah Thomas McClain and Fullerton earned points on the line to make it 40-37 at the break for Jefferson 

• The Rams began to take momentum in the second half, going on a 15-6 run that put them ahead 58-43. Thomas-McClain, Dorsey, and Fullerton all connected their shots from beyond the arc 

• Jefferson kept slowly adding to their lead, seeing Hawkins and Shane Cercone earn points at the charity stripe 

• The Wildcats refused to stay away, fighting back to get down by six points with 15 ticks to go. A Denim Perkins three made it 82-79 with five seconds on the clock. Dorsey delivered at the line to secure a CACC South win for the Rams
