Softball Finishes Home Stretch Against Bridgeport on Senior Day
PHILADELPHIA – Thomas Jefferson University softball team (10-17, 4-12) completed their regular season home schedule on Saturday as they ended the day by falling in the doubleheader to the University of Bridgeport (20-20, 17-5) in Central Atlantic Collegiate College (CACC) action. Bridgeport took game one 5-1 and game two 8-0 in five innings. The Rams honored their seniors on Senior Day.
WHAT HAPPENED
GAME ONE: L, 5-1
The Purple Knights got out on the lead early with a sacrifice fly and a fielder's choice putting up two runs in the top of the first inning. Bridgeport added two more runs off a homerun in the fourth and one in the fifth from a sacrifice fly, putting game one at 5-0. Jefferson was able to get on the board in the sixth as a fielding error allowed Rozalee Negron to score, but the Purple Knights held on the rest of the way to take the first game 5-1.

Bridgeport put all of their eight runs in the first inning off four singles and a triple. Jefferson only allowed four batters at most for the next four innings, but were unable to register a score in the next five innings with the Purple Knights taking game two.

SENIOR DAY
Before the doubleheader, the Rams recognized Annalise Pudimott, Victoria Juckniewitz, Gianna DeLorenzo, Cayla Kalani, Ellie Egher, and Sage Bolonski as Jefferson honored their seniors on Senior Day.

Jefferson will now finish their regular season on the road as they look to make a push for the postseason on Sunday, April 21 when the Rams take on Caldwell University. The first game begins at 1 p.m.
